Kaluau Family

Photographing this family was a beautiful reminder of why I am so passionate about my work. Capturing genuine moments of love, joy, and connection underscored the significance of my craft and left me deeply grateful to witness and preserve their story.

This was my second time photographing the Kaluau Family, and once again, they brought warmth, laughter, and an easygoing spirit to their session. We met at Poolenalena Beach in Wailea on a calm morning, where the soft, diffused light and peaceful shoreline created an ideal backdrop for relaxed, natural portraits. The subtle glow of the early sun, the wide sweep of sand, and the gentle rhythm of the ocean complemented every candid laugh and quiet embrace.

Starting early allowed me to take full advantage of the delicate morning light and tranquil atmosphere. The images felt intimate and timeless, capturing playful moments between siblings, tender exchanges between parents, and the unposed interactions that tell the true story of a family.

Through my lens, the Kaluau Family’s connection shines clearly. These images will become treasured memories they can return to again and again. Poolenalena Beach is one of those special places that elevates family portraits, offering everything from sweeping landscape views to close-up, heartfelt expressions. Photographing the Kaluau Family there was a lovely experience and a warm reminder of why I love what I do: creating images that preserve love, joy, and togetherness for years to come.
