There’s nothing quite like the magic of a Maui sunset—and when it becomes the backdrop for a surprise proposal, it’s pure perfection. As a Maui photographer, moments like these remind me why I love what I do: being a silent witness to genuine love, joy, and connection.
Abbey and Connor were an absolute dream to photograph. Weeks before the big day, Connor and I began planning every detail of his surprise proposal. From phone calls to hand-drawn maps showing exactly where he should stand for the perfect angle, we choreographed the moment down to the second. Everything had to be just right—after all, this was the moment his forever with Abbey would begin.
That afternoon, the golden light danced across the waves at Po‘olenalena Beach in Wailea. The ocean shimmered, the palms swayed gently, and as Connor dropped to one knee, time seemed to pause. Abbey’s expression said everything—shock, love, and overflowing happiness. It was such a sweet, intimate exchange, framed by the beauty of Maui’s shoreline.
