Lindsay & Josh’s Love Story: From High School Prom to Lifelong Commitment. A Maui Photographer’s dream to capture.

They met in Spanish class—Lindsay a junior, Josh a senior—sitting just a few seats apart. By the end of that school year, Josh had worked up the nerve to ask Lindsay to be his prom date. She said “yes,” taking a chance on someone she didn’t yet know well.

In the months before prom they really got to know one another. Their first date was a carnival: sticky sweets, bright lights, and nervous laughter. The prom itself felt almost magical—a night that seemed to promise more than a single evening could hold. Then life moved forward: college, new cities, new routines.

They chose to stay together. Even as college put them in different states, they found ways to close the gap. Josh and Lindsay weathered the long-distance tests of young adulthood—planes, trains, late-night calls, weekend trips. Later, both pursued demanding professional programs: Josh headed to New York City for medicine, Lindsay to Buffalo for law. Intense classes and packed schedules might have pulled others apart, but distance didn’t break them. It only proved how much they were willing to invest.

In 2013, nine years after that prom night at the castle, Josh asked Lindsay to marry him—back where their story had taken a decisive turn. She said “yes” again. They were married in 2015. In 2018, they prepared to welcome their first baby, carrying forward a love story that had begun in a classroom and grown through years of choices, travel, and steadfast commitment.

A story that began with a brave prom invitation became a life built together—full of risk, persistence, and joy.
